Wimbledon is a beautiful residential area, home to the Championships tennis tournament and Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum. Unique boutiques and chic cafes line Wimbledon Village. The vast fields of Wimbledon Common draw walkers and cyclists, while smaller Wimbledon Park attracts families with its playgrounds and lake. The Polka Theatre hosts children’s shows, and there are musicals at the New Wimbledon Theatre.
Many of the grand Victorian houses in Wimbledon have chimneys with history. A chimney sweeps dream come through, when you come into a property and look up the flue. You can see not only the condition of the chimney how it was used and cared for in the past.
Chimney sweep in Wimbledon
The local chimney sweep for the area is Sascha Meding, a very passionate Chimney Engineer and Technician.
He has started his Chimney Sweeping apprenticeship at the age of 15 in Germany. After a few years of practical experience, he did his Master Degree in Chimney Sweeping and another exam in Energy Efficiency. Today he is Managing Director of Stova, but he says for himself “I am most happy outside at customer houses cleaning, sweeping and checking chimneys.” In his free time, he reads books about chimneys, stoves and fireplaces. He also enjoys his work as Vice President for the Guild of Master Chimney Sweeps and the work he does for the European Federation of Chimney Sweeps.
If you meet him at your property you can ask him any question about your chimney and he can surely give you the answer.
Our area also covers neighbouring areas, such as Clapham, Kingston upon Thames, Richmond, Raynes Park, and Morden.
